A coding session ends in the middle of a route. Compaction keeps the conversation moving by dropping detail. A new agent arrives with the repository, but without the correction that made the last attempt safe.
The cost is ordinary and familiar: the next session reopens the same question, repeats a failed approach, or misses why an odd-looking decision was deliberate.

Waykeep began as Cairn: a local marker for the decisions and lessons an agent would otherwise leave behind. The name changed when the job became clearer. A marker helps once. A kept way helps everyone who comes next.
